Socs in the City

Monday night the bscene people headed west to lend their support to the Rotaract NUL Galway fashion show ‘Socs in the City’ in aid of Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
Held in the Radisson Hotel this event saw all of Galway’s young trendy crowd lend their support to a very worth while cause.

The Moulin Rouge inspired show fused elements of fashion, dance, music for over two hours displaying fashions from Miss Selfridge, Elvery’s , Debenhams, Tommy Hillfiger and Origin to name but a few. Well done to all the crew who have worked for months in making it a memorable night.

Special guests on the evening leading their support where fashion designers Jennifer Rothwell & Heather Finn, one of the Bscene directors Sean Montague and bscene model & talent scout Dearbhla Hogan. One of bscene’s newer signings Aoife Broderick also took part in the show and looked like she had been on catwalks all her life.

Following a very successful show the party moved on to a wrap party in Karma nightclub where models, crew, guests partied the night away.http://www.karma.ie/

While the boys of U2 where busy seeing themselves in 3-D over in cineworld for the European premiere of ‘U2-3D’ as part of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival the crew at Bscene where busy leading their support to those former chart topping twins Keavey & Edel Lynch formerly of girl group ‘Bewitched’.



This double act now known as ‘Miss Lynch’ rocked a strong crowd at DCU last night. The student audience would have been only little kids when bewitched hits where first charting but they got behind the new workings of some classic tracks while newer edgier material from ‘Miss Lynch’ went down well with an enthusiastic crowd.

Feeling very old and like we where guest staring in an episode of Hollyoaks we all high tailed it out of there once the girls where over and back to a quieter, warmer location for a proper catch up with the twins & co

Miss Lynch will be playing an other Irish date later this month in NUI Maynooth so check press for details.

Disco .... in a taxi ??

Facebook watchers will have heard us here at bscene go on about the disco taxi that is on the streets of Dublin for a while now. Well here is a recent picture from a recent taxi ride.

Meteors & IFTA's

Well it’s been a dull quiet week on the events front due to two bigger events taking place.

Tonight sees ‘The Meteor Music Awards’ taking place in Dublin’s RDS. .. With the point closed for renovations every music event on the calendar is taking place in the RDS. Now although events such as this are much needed and very welcomed the line up leaves a lot to be desired. Sinead O Connor duet with The Republic of Loose should be interesting but could do without Westlife.

The event is an excellent association for mobile company ‘Meteor’.

Of course the funny thing with events such as these is watching the wannabes try to crash the after party. Hours of fun to be had there…. ( for those not inside ) . This years after party will be held in the urban trendy & model hang out KRYSTLE, Harcourt Street.

The other big event and the one bscene has more interest is the IFTA’S <> on Sunday evening. Our answer to the Oscars, Baftas & Golden Globes all rolled into one takes place this year in the Gaiety Theatre, King Street.

We think this year the organisers have got it right with a good location, an after party in the wonderful Shelbourne Hotel, and some well known faces from Hollywood and a ceremony they promise will not go on for 6 hours like previous years.

If you think you have been doing double takes & spotting some well know international faces around the city then you may just be correct. Actor, Director , Producer Mel Gibson is due in along with actress Rene Russo and Sex & the city star John Corbett. The later staying right beside the offices of bscene as the crew here have spotted him countless times over the last few days with his stunning partner.

Always good to reconnect with people and today up & coming stylist Glenda Mc Garry popped into the agency to show us her book & discuss new projects.

Bscene worked with Glenda a few years back on a project for a make up school The Make Up Room alongside photographer Lili Forberg, so we where delighted to see that one of the shots from that shoot featuring a younger Amy Tracey is her business card pictured here.
