He's behind you ..... must be panto time

Pantomime season is well and truly up & running and Monday night saw the official opening night of ‘Snow White’ @ Liberty Hall Theatre, Dublin. This has got to be one of the most popular pantos in town with a tagline boasting that ‘It’s the funniest’ and here at Bscene we would have to agree. All the years best songs are packed into a fun filled quick scripted show that is pure entertainment for all the family.

The cast this year sees former You’re a Star judge Linda Martin as the evil queen, former bFamous student Michelle McGrath as Snow White with TV 3 presenter Alan Hughes as ‘Sammy Sausages’ and Jon Conlon as the best panto dame in a long long time as ‘The Buffy’.

Guest on the night hailed from all areas of the industry with well know faces from TV3 such as Karen Koster, Lorraine Keane, Martin King, Noel Cunningham & Laura Birmingham , while RTE stars where also out in force with Gerry Ryan, Larry Googan & Joe Duffy to name but a few.
In addition to faces from television well know industry players such as producer Bill Hughes, singer Brian Kennedy , choreographer and agent Brendan Scully, manager Julian Benson and host of models from various agencies all lend their ‘He’s behind you’ support to the cast.

Running till the end of Jan 2008 if your bring the kids, nieces , nephews to one pantomime this year then this is the one but catch it while you can as it is the last year this production will be housed at Liberty Hall Theatre as the bull dozers go in 2008 to pull the whole place down.

Decembers Living In Magazine

It's a wonderful night after all

‘Jameson’ does what they do best and turned ‘Meeting House Square’ in Temple Bar into a wonderful outdoor cinema for a festive screening of
‘It’s a wonderful life’. As guests entered an amazing huge ‘Jameson’ Snow globe greeted them with its own very old style theatre housed inside as snow gushed around as if it was being shaken in hands of some child.

The Camembert Quartet from RTE’s Tubridy Tonight show entertained guest as they munched on various Christmas treats washed down with hot Jameson Whiskey. The square looked fantastic with an overhead canapĂ© projected images to keep all dry should the rain dampen the evening but thankfully it held off while burners and cosy Jameson gift hats where on hand to keep all warm.

Spirit Of Christmas

The Spirit of Christmas kicked off last night in City West.Guest where treated to the music a wonderful gospel choir as they arrived while Santa Claus himself posed for photos with the young children.
The show itself features a cast of 32 mostly dancers with 3 main singers belting out all your favourite Christmas tunes. The second half of the show is defiantly better then the first and City west could do with making the whole environment a little bit more like Christmas and more of a theatre feel. At times it was like watching a tracked show in the old point that you know really belongs in the likes of the Gaiety or Olympia theatres but one thing was clear the Christmas party season had arrived. So if every chessy Christmas song crammed into the one show are for you thing then this is your show to see this Christmas season.
However you have seen the New York show this version does not measure up production wise.

Guests included RTE presenters Emma O Driscoil and Brian Ormond. Singer Paul Byrom, Journalist Francis Winston, Eugene Masterson and writer Marisa Mackle, Julian Benson, Catriona O Conor and TV3 gossip correspondence Mr. Noel Cunningham
